Ploum Large settee high back
Designer: R. & E. Bouroullec
The Ploum settees are the fruit of much research into comfort. And the result: a combination of two specific materials which, when associated with the real dimensional generosity of the Ploum settees, offers an extremely high level of comfort whilst giving the body the chance to adopt a number of possible postures. As per the designers' wishes, the large settee is asymmetrical in construction : the right-hand backrest is a little higher than the one on the left, whilst the right-hand seat is slightly deeper than the left-hand one and the zip on the rear of the backrest is off-centre. The seat of the large settee, which may accommodate up to 4 persons, has a slightly closed angle perfect for encouraging sitters to move closer together, which in turn facilitates conversation between the occupants of the settee. The great flexibility of contact associated with a freely-formed shape turn Ploum into a veritable nest: in fact, all positions are possible here, with both back and head enjoyin...
Prado Large settee depth 120
Designer: Christian Werner
Quite apart from the habitual styling exercise which surrounds a new settee - which consists of a principally aesthetic proposal - Prado represents first and foremost an approach based on the study of lifestyles, or in short, the human being. Here, therefore, we find the same ambition as that which brought us Smala in the early part of the new century. Prado consists of a vast seat which may be used either independently or with other elements, on which back cushions may be scattered at will. There is total freedom since these cushions, which are weighted and equipped with an anti-slip system, will remain in place without needing to be leant against or attached to anything. They could therefore be arranged on the floor for a few leisurely moments around a low table, whilst the seat could do duty as an occasional bed simply by turning over its seat cushion, the reverse of which is covered with mattress ticking.
Kashima Large settee
Designer: Michel Ducaroy
in 2023 Ligne Roset is reissuing its emblematic Kashima model. It is the ''comfortable Chesterfield''. Kashima designed by Michel Ducaroy offers classic customers the “English” comfort. The generous shapes of this model enable to give a reassuring image to an all-foam seat. All-foam seating, Kashima hides, under its agreeable appearance, a soft comfort in rounded and curved lines (integrated armrests, lumbar, headrest). However, this comfort doesn’t jeopardise the quality of the high-density foams that compose it. Let’s remind that the density of a foam is the only guarantee of longevity. The denser the foam is, the longer the seat will last. The buttoning is then made using invisible tie rods, placed inside the foam. The classicism of its shapes does not deprive Kashima of a touch of fantasy. The fully quilted cover forms “pinched” seams at the corners, reinforced by interior laces. The nest shape of the seat allows the user to sit down, wedged on the sides.
